Safari Overview

Winston Churchill once attributed the name “The Pearl of Africa” to Uganda for various reasons: Uganda is blessed with dense, misty (rain) forests, snow-covered mountains, the deepest lakes, extensive savannas, rich biodiversity, and utmost hospitality. The Lake Mburo bonanza, the shortest of our safari packages, will provide you with a glimpse of all these characteristics.

This safari will take you to Lake Bunyonyi, the second deepest lake in Africa, for canoeing, village & nature walks around the scenic lake and terraces. From here, we will continue to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest for the ultimate Gorilla trekking experience. On our way back, we will make a stop-over in Lake Mburo National Park to walk, cycle or ride on a horse through the savannah and end our safari with a night or early morning game drive tracking cheetahs, lions, giraffes, zebras, and more.

Itinerary:

Customize your Safari! Our itineraries were carefully crafted by our safari consultants. They can be used as blue prints and customized according to your preferences, duration and budget.

Day 1
Arrival at Entebbe International Airport & Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi.

Depending on your time of arrival, you will be spending a night in one of Entebbe’s colonial-styled guesthouses or you will start the journey right away with a scenic drive to Lake Bunyonyi in south-western Uganda.

Day 2
Canoeing and Nature Walk around Lake Bunyonyi & its terraces

Discover Lake Bunyonyi, Africa’s second deepest lake, on a traditional canoe and paddle from island to island. Opt for a village or nature walk through the surrounding terraces and hills up to the best viewpoints to see all 29 islands.

In the afternoon, you will privately transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest.

Day 3
Ultimate Gorilla Trekking Experience in the Jungle

In the mist of the impenetrable rainforest, you will trek through lush greenery in search of the last mountain gorillas on earth (400 gorillas of the 880 gorillas worldwide live in Uganda).

After trekking, you can relax with a hot stone massage or learn more about the Batwa tribe during a cultural experience.

Day 4
Walk in Lake Mburo National Park

Lake Mburo National Park is located halfway between Bwindi and Entebbe – it’s the ideal stop-over to explore Uganda’s savannah on foot, on a bicycle, or horse and ride along with zebras and giraffes.

Day 5
Sunrise Game Drive & Transfer to Entebbe

An early-morning game drive will offer you the opportunity to see cheetahs, lions, giraffes and zebras in their most natural habitat.

Thereafter, you will transfer to Entebbe International Airport (or the last night in Entebbe).
