Safari Overview

The 6-Day Rwanda and Uganda Loop starts and ends in Kigali and combines urban touring with gorilla trekking and wildlife love. Explore the country of “a thousand hills and a million smiles” and the varied terrain of Akagera National Park to spot wildlife- zebras, giraffes, elephants, lions, and hundreds of bird species, such as the rare shoebill stork.

The loop includes Gorilla Trekking In Bwindi Impenetrable Forest in Uganda; you will get up close to the world’s endangered gentle giants – the last remaining mountain gorillas.

Day 1
Arrival at Kigali International Airport

Depending on your time of arrival, you will be spending a or two night in one of Kigali’s colonial-styled guesthouses.

Day 2
Kigali City Tour

Get to know Africa’s Switzerland on a city tour through Kigali. You may deep dive into Rwanda’s cultural heritage by visiting the Genocide Memorial Centre or a walk through the characteristic art markets.

Day 3
Akagera National Park and Boat Cruise

Akagera NP is Central Africa's largest protected wetland and the last remaining refuge for savannah-adapted species in Rwanda. On your game drive, you will spot wildlife and hundreds of bird species.

Day 4
Ultimate Gorilla Trekking Experience in the Jungle

In the mist of the impenetrable rain forest you will trek through lush greenery in search for the last mountain gorillas on earth (400 gorillas of the 880 gorillas worldwide live in Uganda).

Day 5
Explore the traditions of Batwa Pygmy People & walk to a near-by waterfall in the jungle

Learn more about the Batwa tribe during a cultural experience, community & nature walk or Batwa dance.

Day 6
Departure from Kigali International Airport

You will transfer to Kigali International Airport for your departure (or the last night in Kigali).
