Join PearlAfric for the ultimate camping experience. The 9 days Lazy Camping Voyage Uganda starts from Jinja and ends in Kampala. We shall meet eye to eye with the amazing gorillas and white extinct Rhinos of Uganda in their natural habitat. We visit Mpanga Forest and experience the wonder of the World’s renowned Murchison Falls as it squeezes through the narrow gorge.

Pick-up & Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park

Day 1

After your early morning breakfast we drive northwest to Murchison Falls National Park with a stop in Masindi Town for lunch at your expense. We continue to Murchison Falls National Park arriving at your lodge late afternoon.

Morning Game Drives and Afternoon Boat Cruise

Day 2

We go for a very early morning game drive on the northern bank of the River Nile. Your guide will help you spot elephant, lion, cape buffalo, Roth child’s giraffe, hartebeest, waterbuck, oribi, bushbuck, bohor reed buck, hyena and if you are lucky, the leopard.

Boat cruise

After lunch we go for a boat cruise upstream the calm Victoria Nile to the base of the falls stopping just few of meters from the ‘Devil’s Cauldron’. You may choose to continue to hike to the top of the falls, where you will have the amazing view of the falls!

After taking shorts of the photogenic Murchison Falls, you may continue to the top of the falls at an extra fee of $15 per person where you will have the amazing view of the falls!

After this experience you return to your lodge and relax in the evening.

5 Hour Delta Cruise

Alternatively, in the afternoon you may choose to pay a supplement of $500 per group below 10 People to have a 5 Hour Delta Cruise to Lake Albert. Here you will mix with the high concentration of mammals as well you will get a chance of coming close to the endemic Albertine rift shoebill stork in the wilderness.

Transfer to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary – Afternoon Rhino Tracking

Day 3

After breakfast we transfer to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary through Masindi Town where we have lunch. In the afternoon you have the opportunity to trek rhinos. There are 15 Rhinos which were reintroduced after their extinction in the 1970’s through poaching. A local ranger guide will lead you on foot to an up-close encounter with the rhinos and it may take about 1,5 half hours.

Transfer to Mpanga Forest – Afternoon Forest Trail and Birding

Day 4

Enjoy your morning breakfast and transfer to Mpanga Forest. This rainforest is the Uganda’s birding spot nearest to Kampala. You will enjoy your lunch at your destination.

In the afternoon you will enjoy an rewarding forest trail. This area provides plenty of birds that are observed in the forest edge. Proceed to the forest taking a clear walking trail that runs the entire length of the forest and ends at a water stream which is said to host the Shoebill sometimes. You may be lucky to see the Albertine endemic Shoebill stock as well as a good number of water species. This may take you up to about three hours to bird at the entire trail and you will be rewarded with over 50 bird species.

Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Day 5

After morning breakfast we drive west of the country through Masaka – Mbarara Road with a stopover at the Equator for a water experiment. You will stand in 2 hemeispheres at the same time and you may weigh yourself while there. It will be astonishing to weigh less of your normal weight! Make another stopover in Mbarara at a selected restaurant for lunch (at your own expense). We proceed to Queen Elizabeth National Park reaching late evening.

Morning Game Drive and afternoon Boat Cruise on Kazinga Channel

Day 6

Have an early morning game drive where you have an opportunity to spot lion, leopard, giant forest hog, cape buffalo, elephant, defassa waterbuck, Uganda kob, topi and bushbuck. Be sure to have your camera ready for these amazing sightings!

Balloon Safari

Alternatively you may opt to go for a balloon safari (extra fee of $380) at the Kasenyi gate of Queen Elizabeth NP at 5:30 am. The flight gives you great photo opportunities that are different from an ordinary safari on the ground. After landing, celebrate the flight with a glass of sparkling wine. After the toast, passengers sit down to a delectable bush breakfast prepared by Mweya Safari Lodge. The bush breakfast makes for a memorable ending to your ballooning adventure in Queen Elizabeth NP.

Boat Cruise

Enjoy a hot lunch and later in the afternoon take a unique 2-hour boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel into Lake Edward. This trip passes through possibly the highest concentration of hippos and this cruise offers an excellent platform for photography, bird watching and game viewing.  The bird life is colorful and stupendous, with over 550 resident species.

Transfer to Magical Bunyonyi

Day 7

Have a morning breakfast and we drive through to Lake Bunyonyi which has one of the most breath taking sceneries. You will reach early for your lunch. In the afternoon enjoy the view overlooking Uganda’s deepest lake or you may try your hand paddling at dugout canoe, or eating fresh water crayfish.

Ultimate Gorilla Tracking – Afternoon Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi

Day 8

After an early breakfast depart to the starting point for briefing about your gorilla trekking adventure in Bwindi, after which you will be led by experienced gorilla trackers on the slopes of the volcanoes.

Although the hike can be physically demanding, the anticipation of the exciting experience ahead is amazing, and the beauty of the gorilla forest and its inhabitants are fascinating. You are allowed an hour with the gorillas before finally sloping down back to your lodge.

Nature Walk

If your trek was relatively short, you may have a guided nature walk around the lodge and the surrounding communities in the evening. After that you will return to the lodge where you will enjoy dinner.

Do not forget to carry your rain gear, packed lunch, plenty of water, gloves, hat, and waterproof bag for protection of your camera in case of rain.

Gorilla Habituation Experience

Alternatively you may pay an extra charge of $900 per person for Gorilla Habituation. This needs prior arrangements and bookings. Gorilla Habituation grants you more hours with the gorillas as you learn more about their behaviour.

Morning transfer to Kampala

Day 9

Have a morning breakfast and we transfer to Kampala with a stopover for lunch. You will advise your guide about your destination. Depending on the time of arrival in Kampala, you may engage in more city activities at your own expense such as:

Kampala City Tour

You may visit the famous Gadhafi Mosque (extra fee of $8 per person), this will reward you with the most magnificent view of Kampala City and its immediate neighbourhood. We shall view the original seven hills on which Kampala stood spreading to over 21 – 22 neighbouring hills.

Craft markets and Owino Market

Or you may visit craft markets for souvenir shopping or ave a guided Owino Market Walk. Here you will mix in the drama and competition of the vendors as they excise their different marketing skills and tricks of attracting people to their merchandise. It’s possible to spend hours here, not because it’s so hard to find your way out. Watch your belongings!
