Known as the “Coca-Cola” route, the Marangu route is a classic trek on Mount Kilimanjaro. It is the oldest, most well established route. Many favor the Marangu route because it is considered to be the easiest path on the mountain, given its gradual slope. It is also the only route which offers sleeping huts in dormitory style accommodations. The Marangu route is probably followed by 90% of all climbers!
The trek starts at Marangu Gate. Porters will carry all your personal items, equipment and supplies and cook prepares your delicious meals. Marangu route has a well-defined path, which has been well set out where most obstacles have been modified to make it friendly. This is very scenic route with good views of Mawenzi and excellent prospects for viewing and to reach the summit.
