Kampala – Bwindi Impenetrable forest

Day 1

Meet and greet at your hotel in Kampala at 06:15 hours. An early morning start from Kampala takes you south west to Bwindi. We cross the Equator, you drive through savannah grasslands seeing banana plantation and herds of Ankole cattle with their incredibly long carving horns. You then ascend into the kigezi high lands known as the “Switzerland of Africa” with terraced farming and mountains scenery. Lunch break in Mbarara.

Accommodation: Buhoma Lodge (up-market) or Buhoma Community Rest Camp (mid-market)

Bwindi – Gorilla Tracking

Day 2

After an early breakfast depart to the starting point for briefing about your gorilla tracking adventure after which you will be led by experienced gorilla trackers on the slopes of the volcanoes.

Although the hike can be physically demanding, the anticipation of the exciting experience ahead is amazing, and the beauty of the gorilla forest and its inhabitants are fascinating. You are allowed an hour with the gorillas before finally sloping down back to your lodge.

Nature Walk

If your trek was relatively short, you may have a guided nature walk around the lodge and the surrounding communities in the evening. After that you will return to the lodge where you will enjoy dinner.

Do not forget to carry your rain gear, packed lunch, plenty of water, gloves, hat, and waterproof bag for protection of your camera in case of rain.

Gorilla Habituation Experience

Alternatively you may pay an extra charge of $900 per person for Gorilla Habituation. This needs prior arrangements and bookings. Gorilla Habituation grants you more hours with the gorillas as you learn more about their behavior.

Bwindi – Lake Mburo National Park

Day 3

After morning breakfast we drive to Lake Mburo National Park.

Lake Mburo – Transfer

Day 4

Start your day with an early morning game drive. Have an encounter with the residents in the park include that impalas, buffaloes, topi, large herds of zebra together with vast variety of birdlife.

Horse back riding

You can also go for horse riding. Lake Mburo National Park and is one of the most amazing adventures with in Uganda’s national park. This park is the only national park where you go for horse back riding in Uganda.

Check out of Lake Mburo National Park and transfer to Entebbe International Airport.
