Meet and Greet at Entebbe International Airport – Transfer to the Hotel

Day 1

Meet and greet at Entebbe International Airport where your Uganda self-drive private Adventure Safari starts by our representative who will warmly welcome you and facilitate seamless arrival formalities.  Your will then be given your pop up safari Land cruiser then transfer to the Hotel.

Depending on the time of arrival you are advised to have money Changed on this day and time allowing you may go for city tour with the help of our driver/guide, visit the shopping Malls around town and craft villages to get items which you may need while in upcountry.

After Early Breakfast, Have an optional morning Transfer to Mabamba swamp

Day 2

After morning Breakfast, you may optionally drive west of Entebbe to Mabamba Swamp which is one of the best and most convenient places to see the elusive Shoebill a an extra fee of $60. You will meet with the Local guides who will take you through the briefing and later you will enjoy a few minutes in a small canoe to the papyrus reeds that opens up into a flat grassy wetlands where a number of Shoebill can regularly be seen.

This bird is easily spotted in the morning hence you may have a chance a make a great photo while it stalks its prey of mudfish or frogs, enjoy their hunting tricks as they stand absolutely still for long periods waiting the movements of their prey and then suddenly strike with a Marvelous speed.

Finally enjoy a boat tour across Lake Victoria which will give you more Opportunities to view more birds.

Later, transfer to Jinja known as the adventure Capital of Uganda with a variety of different adrenaline filled activities to choose from. One of the most amazing experiences you can have is rafting grade 5 rapids on the Mighty white River Nile! – You will transfer to the departure point for briefing on white water rafting on the Nile! After, you will tussel on serial rapids of different grades. Your Screems, anxiety, competition, Marval – you may try diving to swim if you can swim, this will sum up a thrilling day! As you dventure the Nile Valley.

Self Transfer to Sipi Falls via Nyero Rock Paintings for a Hike

Day 3

Have Breakfast and Transfer to Sipi Falls – a Land of Falls found on the Ranges of Mountain Elgon, it is characterized with steep slopes, water falls, Caves and ladders. You will reach in the afternoon at the Lodge.

You will pass via a town of Kumi in the Kumi District. Proceed just by the little village of Nyero you will discover 3 Rock Cave Shelters where you will view some of the oldest rock paintings in Uganda dating back to the Iron Age – If you have an interest in archeology! Nyero Ancient Rock Paintings Caves are a best site to be visited for the History. Meet the Natives of the Place who are the Present day Iteso though they are not believed to have been the people who drew the pictures that make up the Nyero Rock Paintings as well there are no written records as to who did.  However, some tales reveal that Batwa like people lived in the area before the Iteso People and therefore they are the one’s responsible for the paintings though there are no record of them hence remains a Mystery!

Later Transfer to Sipi Falls and time allowing, you may have a coffee experience at an extra fee or sundowner hike at an extra fee to the view point where you are most likely to have the best views of the falls, part of the Mountain Elgon Peak and ranges, Iteso Plains and part of the Karamojong Plains plains and most romantically you will watch the sun setting as the rays disappear through the rocks, cliffs, caves and green plantations.

Hike to all Falls That Characterize the Region

Day 4

Arise early morning and enjoy the sun rise on the plains- Have breakfast and a morning

Unforgettable hike and nature walk, we shall tackle three falls that make up Sipi. The visit of the three falls involves hiking a trail network that is characterized by a steep and slippery path,

mud on rainy days, climbing ladders and going through farms as well as checking on caves.

After a Hot Lunch has optional Abseiling at the Falls at an extra fee of $60 per person – It is this adventurous already – this will lead you to great views of the surrounding vegetation-clad valleys, caves and mountains with a view of the Karamojong plains, view several birds.

You will later enjoy an afternoon coffee tour with a site guide where you will be taken through plantations  to learn about

how coffee is planted and later you will be taken where it is

processes and you will be showed the process before planting to consuming it.

Self Transfer to Moroto a Cultural Tourism Hub

Day 5

Have Breakfast and Transfer to Moroto where you will hike Mount Moroto – here you will have the best view of Karamojong Plains, you will later visit the Tepeth  tribe who are said to be the original settlers of the Karamoja planes. They were socially hunters and food/fruit gatherers but later, due to famine caused by decline in Wildlife Population in 1970 and early 80s as well as increase in human population, they later adapted agro-pastoralism to boost on the way of living in their livelihoods.

Transfer to Kotido another cultural capital

Day 6

Have breakfast and drive to Kotido reaching by 9:00 o’clock for the Cattle Market Visit. You will mix in the drama of selling and buying and all negotiations. You will later have a community visit to the biggest Community Manayattas in Kotido where you will enjoy the Comical hair styles and body Tattoos.

Morning Transfer to Visit the IK Tribe

Day 7

Spend the Day with the Ik people.  They are the ethnic group numbering about 10,000 people living in the mountains of northeastern Uganda near the border with Kenya.

The Ik were displaced from their land to create the Kidepo Valley National Park and consequently suffered extreme famine due to the raids they suffered from their tribe’s mates. The Ik are subsistence farmers who grind their own grain and are very remote and very interesting Socially, they live in small villages arranged

clusters, which comprise the total community with each village surrounded by an outer wall.

You will later hike Morungule Mountain and have another view of the surrounding Community, afternoon Transfer to Kidepo Valley National Park reaching in Time for Dinner at The Lodge.

Morning Game drives to the Narus Valley & Kanangorok hot springs

Day 8

After breakfast, carry packed lunch in order to have a full day wilderness survey, take a game drive in the morning to the Narus Valley via the Palm tree lined Kidepo river in search for Leopard tortoise, lions, cheetah, Zebra, Waterbuck, Jackson’s Hartebeest, Warthogs, Patas monkeys and big herds of Buffalo leading to the Kanangorok Hot springs, You will have an afternoon guided safari walk to Rionomde Rock returning late afternoon at The Lodge.

Game Drive or Relaxation whole day

Day 9

After breakfast, Enjoy the whole day at the bar or pool or have another full day or half day game drives.

Morning Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park

Day 10

Have breakfast and another Early Morning Game drive and transfer to Murchison Falls National park.

You will stopover for lunch in a selected restaurant at your own expense reaching early afternoon for dinner at the Lodge

Morning Game Drive to the Delta and afternoon Boat Safari

Day 11

Arise very early in the morning for your guided game drive on the northern bank of the River Nile in your open-roof vehicle which will give you an excellent opportunity to view and photograph the diverse wildlife. Your guide will help you spot elephant, lion, cape buffalo, Roth child’s giraffe, hartebeest, waterbuck, oribi, bushbuck, bohor reed buck, hyena and if you are lucky, the leopard.

After taking shorts of the photogenic Murchison Falls, you will continue with a guided top of the falls where you will have the amazing view of the falls! See where the Nile -world’s longest

River explodes violently through a narrow cleft in the Rift Valley escarpment to plunge into a frothing pool 43m below.

Later, return to your lodge and relax in the evening.

Morning Optional Delta Cruise

Day 12

After Breakfast, You may have an optional 5hour Return Boat Safari to the Delta at an extra fee of $65 per person, where you will mix with a High concentration of Hippos and on a Good Day comes close to the endemic Albertine shoebill stork and lions. You will return to The Lodge to Check Out and Transfer to Semiliki National Park.

Alternatively, After Breakfast transfer to Hoima via Lake Albert at the Fishing village to see the local methods used for harvesting fish and mix with the Local Communities, Later proceed to Hoima to Relax at The Lodge.

Morning Visit to Mparo Tombs

Day 13

After breakfast, visit the Mparo Tombs – Mparo Tombs is the final resting ground of King Kabalega II who was exiled in Seychelles by the British Empire in 1899, Tito Winyi plus several princes, princesses and royals of Bunyoro-Kitara kingdom. The Bunyoro – Kitara Kingdom was once the most powerful Kingdom in the country. Situated in western Uganda, the kingdom comprised of 5 districts, Masindi district, Hoima district, Kiryandongo district, Kibale district and Buliisa district. It becomes easy to visit this attraction if your safari is heading to kibale or Semiliki like this one of you are taking.

Morning Chimpanzee Trekking

Day 14

After breakfast at your lodge, transfer to the starting point of your Chimpanzee tracking experience in Kibale Forest National Park which is reputed to have the greatest variety and highest concentration of primates in East Africa. The most famous of its 13 species is the Chimpanzee, man’s closest relative. Kibale’s 1450 Chimpanzee represent Uganda’s largest population of this endangered primate. Kibale is also a home to the rare I’Hoest’s monkey. Other primates include the black and white Colobus, Blue monkey, Grey cheeked mangabey, Red tailed monkey, Olive baboon to mention but a few. So you will enjoy a guided nature walk in the tropical rainforest in search of the wild chimpanzees, red-tailed monkeys, black and white colobus monkeys and many others.  Although chimp sightings are not guaranteed, visitors stand a good chance of hearing and seeing our distant cousins as they gloom and bond with one another.

After lunch, head to Bigodi for an afternoon swamp walk at an extra fee of $45 per person. Bigodi was established by a local development organization to protect the 4sq-km Magombe Swamp that’s home to around 200 species of birds (highlights include papyrus gonolek, white-winged warbler and great blue turaco). The highlight of this tour is catching a glimpse of the great blue turaco. The swamp is also good for spotting butterflies and primates, with 8 different species here, including grey-cheeked mangabey. The 2-3 hour guided walk is led by experienced local guides.

Morning Transfer to Semiliki National Reserve

Day 15

After breakfast, Depart early after breakfast for the hot springs tour. Enjoy a full day pursuing the Semiliki Valley Wildlife Reserve; The Park is dominated by the easternmost extension of the great Ituri Forest of the Congo Basin. This is one of Africa’s most ancient and bio-diverse forests; one of the few that survived the last ice age, 12-18,000 years ago. Your guide will point out and explain the park’s diversity of wildlife and flora and fauna. The Sempaya hot springs are Semliki’s most famous attraction. There’s a “male” spring, known as Bintente, measuring 12m in diameter and is set in a lush swampy clearing. The “female” spring Nyasimbi, meaning “the female ancestors”, is a boiling geyser (103°C) which spurts bubbling water and steam up to two meters high – the steam cloud can be seen from as far as 2km away. Local residents used to cook their food in these boiling pools.

You may Crown the day with a visit to the local Batwa community located in Ntandi at an extra fee of $80 per person. The community dancers put on traditional performances for visitors. The visit to the villages has proven to be an interesting cultural experience. The guide will have lunch arranged for you to be served as a picnic while you experience the “Real Africa”.  Return to your accommodation for dinner and an overnight stay.

Morning Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Day 16

Have Breakfast and Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park following mystical Rwenzori Back drops, you will reach in the afternoon ready for Lunch and relax or you may ask your Safari Guide to Take You Through the Park for a Game Drive.

After lunch, have a boat Safari on Kazinga Channel into Lake Edward. This trip passes through possibly the highest concentration of hippos and this launch/cruise offers an excellent platform for photography, bird watching and game viewing.  The prolific bird life is colorful and stupendous, with well over 550 resident species.

Morning Game Drive – Transfer to Ishasha Sector

Day 17

Queen Elizabeth National Park’s diverse eco-system of grassy plains, tropical forest, rivers, swamps, lakes and volcanic craters is home to an incredible abundance of wildlife.  Have an early morning Lion Tracking activities alongside the researchers who will provide you with the depth information about lions and the surrounding, here you will enjoy an opportunity to view the massive Rwenzori as backdrop, which provides excellent chance to spot more lions as well as leopard, giant forest hog, Cape buffalo, elephant, defassa waterbuck, Uganda Kob, topi and bushbuck.

Have Breakfast and Transfer to Ishasha Sector – A sector Characterized by tree climbing lions and other mammals, you will have Lunch and proceed with a sundowner combing all Plains for more wildlife and Birds.

Morning Game Drive – Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Day 18

After your early morning breakfast, have a game Drive and pack-up your bags, proceed to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, The drive takes you through the Switzerland of Africa area known as the Kigezi Highlands with its terraced hillside and winding roads to Bwindi impenetrable National Park arriving in the afternoon.

Gorilla Tracking Experience

Day 19

After an early breakfast depart to the starting point for briefing about your gorilla trekking adventure after which you will be led by experienced gorilla trackers on the slopes of the volcanoes. You will start from the site where the gorillas were encountered the day before and from here the gorilla tracking begins. Although the hike can be physically demanding, the anticipation of the exciting experience ahead is amazing, and the beauty of the gorilla forest and its inhabitants are fascinating. One of Africa’s major highlights is when you encounter these gentle apes. It is a humbling experience to stand just meters from man’s distant cousins as they eat rest, play and bond with their young ones. Follow the mountain gorillas as they range freely in the impenetrable forest, and discover their gorgeous natural habitual and the many species they share it with. You are allowed an hour with the gorillas before finally sloping down back to your lodge. If your trek was relatively short, you may have a guided nature walk around the lodge and the surrounding communities in the evening. Return to the lodge where you will enjoy dinner with your fellow travelers before getting a good night’s rest for tomorrow’s safari adventure.

You may opt for Gorilla Habituation on supplement of $900 per person – here you will be sure of meeting and spending enough time with the Gorillas.

Later, proceed with a Batwa pygmy trail Experience at an extra fee of $80 per person– here we shall experience the culture of the ancient Batwa People who live in these forests, See the forest through the eyes of the first People who have lived here for over 500,000 years! Experience the lives of the Batwa People on the Interactive Batwa Trail in Mgahinga Gorilla Park and learn more about their hunting tricks, blacksmith, making of fire from sticks, herbal collections, weaving of Baskets, making bamboo cups, clothing beyond this generation among other interesting thrilling activities. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Morning Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park

Day 20

After Breakfast, travel to L. Mburo National Park, the smallest National Park of Uganda. Though being small, it has a lot offer!!  Centered on a series of swamp-fringe lakes its birdlife is very rich.  The green acacia woodland harbors wildlife like Zebra, warthog Eland, Impala, not to mention the lake itself, which is home to schools of hippos and crocodiles! Furthermore, Uganda Wildlife Authority recently brought 15 giraffes from Murchison falls to Lake Mburo.

Enjoy a Boat Safari on Lake Mburo waters and later relax as you wait for Dinner at The Lodge or enjoy a Night Game Drive.

Morning Walking Safari to the Hyena Den

Day 21

After breakfast have a safari game walk under the escort of an armed ranger. The Kopjes Particularly interesting with the camouflage kilspringers and topis. Due to cattle herding in area it is amusing to see zebra grazing alongside the long horned Ankole cattle peaceably.exciting to approach wildlife at such close range.

You will lead to The Kazuma Look out, a Higher point in Lake Mburo where you will stand view the surrounding communities, Hills, Lame Mburo and the dotted savannah of the Park the is a home to quiet a good number of mammals and birds, you will visit the Hyenas Den you will too speak to your guide about other interesting spots he may suggest to Work Through.

Later Transfer to Entebbe For outbound Flight Back Home with a stopover at The Equator for water Experience and Another stopover at the royal Drum Factory where you will see how they craft the drums for generations.
