Join us for the 15 days Highlight Safari Uganda, which starts and ends at Entebbe International Airport. Visit the best parks of Uganda and meet eye to eye with the amazing gorillas and chimpanzees in their natural habitat, one of Africa’s major highlights. Also get a close encounter with the diverse African wildlife, beautiful landscapes, amazing culture and if you are a keen birder, this is the place to be. Experience the wonder of the World’s reknown Murchison Falls as it squeezes through the narrow gorge.

Arrival and Transfer to the Guest House

Day 1

Meet and greet at Entebbe International Airport where your Uganda Adventure Safari starts by our representative who will warmly welcome you and facilitate seamless arrival formalities. Your will then be transferred to your hotel where you will be briefed about your adventure safari.

Depending on the time of arrival you are advised to have money changed on this day. When time allows you may go for a city tour with the help of our driver/guide.

Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park

Day 2

After your early morning breakfast we drive northwest to Murchison Falls National Park. You may stop at the Rhino Sanctuary for an optional opportunity to trek Rhinos at an extra fee of $45 per person.  There are 15 Rhinos which were reintroduced after their extinction in the 1970s through poaching.  A local ranger guide will lead you on foot to an up-close encounter with the rhinos and it may take about 1 and half hours. Proceed to Masindi Town for lunch at your expense and later continue to Murchison Falls National Park arriving at your lodge late afternoon.

Delta Cruise in Search for a Shoebill – Afternoon Relaxation

Day 3

After breakfast you enjoy a 5 hour Boat cruise to the delta. You will marvel through the schools of hippos and canning crocodiles as you come across a high concentration area of animals in the park. You have a high chance of viewing lions and a leopard as well you will come across to the Shoebill in its natural surroundings.

You will return to your lodge for a hot lunch and after you can relax the whole afternoon.  at the Lodge.

Boat Cruise to the Bottom of the falls, Optional Hike to the Top of the Falls

Day 4

We go for a very early morning game drive on the northern bank of the River Nile. Your guide will help you spot elephant, lion, cape buffalo, Roth child’s giraffe, hartebeest, waterbuck, oribi, bushbuck, bohor reed buck, hyena and if you are lucky, the leopard.

Boat cruise

After lunch we go for a boat cruise upstream the calm Victoria Nile to the base of the falls stopping just few of meters from the ‘Devil’s Cauldron’. You may choose to continue to hike to the top of the falls, where you will have the amazing view of the falls!

Hike top of the waterfalls

After taking shorts of the photogenic Murchison Falls, you may continue to the top of the falls at an extra fee of $15 per person where you will have the amazing view of the falls!

After this experience you return to your lodge and relax in the evening.

Transfer to Kibale National Park

Day 5

After your morning breakfast carry a packed lunch and we begin our journey to Kibale Forest National Park. Drive south via Hoima to Fort Portal through verdant countryside passing through traditional homesteads, farms and Tea Estates. You will arrive at your lodge in the late afternoon.

Morning Chimpanzee Tracking and Afternoon Crater Hike to the Top of the Hills

Day 6

After breakfast we transfer to the starting point of your chimpanzee tracking experience in Kibale Forest National Park which is reputed to have the greatest variety and highest concentration of primates in East Africa.

Although chimp sightings are not guaranteed, visitors stand a good chance of hearing and seeing our distant cousins as they gloom and bond with one another.

Chimpanzee habituation experience

Alternatively you may opt to do chimpanzee habituation experience by paying a supplement of $220. This exercise takes the whole entire day. Only 6 people are allowed per day and you will be sure to come face to face with these closest cousins of man. Advance booking is necessary for this option.

Crater walk

After a hot lunch, proceed to enjoy more breath taking scenic views on the wonder – crater walk to the Top of the world. Here you will enjoy views of crater depressions, valleys, homesteads as well as a view of Kibale Forest National Park

Transfer to Semiliki National Park – Pursue a Nature Walk to the Hot springs

Day 7

Depart early after breakfast for the hot springs tour. Enjoy a full day pursuing the Semuliki Valley Wildlife Reserve. Your guide will point out and explain the park’s diversity of wildlife and flora and fauna. The Sempaya hot springs are Semliki’s most famous attraction.

Batwa Community

If time allows you may visit the local Batwa community located in Ntandi (extra fee of $80 per person). The community dancers put on traditional performances for visitors. The visit to the villages has proven to be an interesting cultural experience. The guide will have lunch arranged for you to be served as a picnic while you experience the “Real Africa”.  Return to your accommodation for dinner.

Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park – Afternoon Boat Cruise on Kazinga Channel

Day 8

After breakfast we proceed to Queen Elizabeth National Park via the Rwenzori Mountain Range. Your driver guide will take you through the game park where you might spot some animals.

You will enjoy a hot lunch at your lodge. Later in the afternoon take a unique 2-hour boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel into Lake Edward. This trip passes through possibly the highest concentration of hippos and this launch/cruise offers an excellent platform for photography, bird watching and game viewing.

Game Drive and Nature Walk to the Bat Cave

Day 9

Have an early morning game drive where you have an opportunity to spot lion, leopard, giant forest hog, cape buffalo, elephant, defassa waterbuck, Uganda kob, topi and bushbuck. Be sure to have your camera ready for these amazing sightings!

Balloon Safari

Alternatively you may opt to go for a balloon safari (extra fee of $380) at the Kasenyi gate of Queen Elizabeth NP at 5:30 am. The flight gives you great photo opportunities that are different from an ordinary safari on the ground. After landing, celebrate the flight with a glass of sparkling wine. After the toast, passengers sit down to a delectable bush breakfast prepared by Mweya Safari Lodge. The bush breakfast makes for a memorable ending to your ballooning adventure in Queen Elizabeth NP.

Nature Walk

In the afternoon you can go for an optional nature walk (extra fee of $30 per person) to the bat and hunters cave at where we take a close look at the bats, rock python and forest cobras. The same walk will provide a chance of seeing birds, primates, tree species etc. Return to the lodge for dinner and your last overnight stay.

Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Day 10

After your breakfast we go for a morning game drive in Ishasha for your final visit with the lions and other wildlife. After the game drive we continue to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, arriving at your lodge in the evening.

Gorilla Tracking and Afternoon Optional Batwa Trail

Day 11

After an early breakfast depart to the starting point for briefing about your gorilla trekking adventure after which you will be led by experienced gorilla trackers on the slopes of the volcanoes.

Although the hike can be physically demanding, the anticipation of the exciting experience ahead is amazing, and the beauty of the gorilla forest and its inhabitants are fascinating. You are allowed an hour with the gorillas before finally sloping down back to your lodge.

Don’t forget to carry your rain gear, packed lunch, plenty of water, gloves, hat, and water proof bag for protection of your camera in case of rain.

Batwa Community

After a hot lunch you may opt for a Batwa Community Trail in Mgahinga at an extra fee of $80 per person. Watch and experience the true African life style through their social life style of dance and drama.

Gorilla Habituation Experience

Alternatively you may pay an extra charge of $900 per person for Gorilla Habituation. This needs prior arrangements and bookings. Gorilla Habituation grants you more hours with the gorillas as you learn more about their behaviour.

Transfer to Lake Mutanda – Have an Afternoon Nature Walk around the Lake

Day 12

After breakfast we transfer to Lake Mutanda following the beauty of the volcano forest. You will have lunch and then enjoy the surrounding on a guided nature walk. Meet the communities and breathe taking sceneries.

Hike Muhavura Volcano

Day 13

After breakfast have a memorable hike to Mount Muhabura which is known as Mount Muhavura. It is an extinct volcano in the Virunga Mountains found on the border between Rwanda and Uganda. At 4,127 metres (13,540 ft) Muhabura is the third highest of the eight major mountains of the mountain range, which is a part of the Albertine Rift, the western branch of the East African Rift. The name Muhabura means “The Guide” in the local language, Kinyarwanda.

Don’t forget your walking stick, rain jacket, hiking boots, sunscreen, insect repellent, head cap, packed food and water.

Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park – Afternoon Game Drive

After breakfast you will travel to Lake Mburo National Park, the smallest National Park of Uganda. Though being small, it has a lot to offer!

You will have lunch and later in the afternoon a game drive.

Have breakfast and you will go to the airport for outbound flight back home.
