day 1

Arrival in Uganda

On your arrival at Entebbe International Airport, transfer to your Hotel in time for dinner and over night (BB)

day 2

Mamamba Swamp and Lake Mburo NP

Morning start to mabamba swamp for the shoebill stork and other water birds, there after proceed to Lake Mburo national park en route at Kaaku swamp for the Rufous-bellied, Heron, and Lesser Jacana, Lesser Moorhen and a verity of water birds. Dinner and over night at Lake Mburo tented camp

day 3

Lake Mburo NP

Early morning start for a walking safari and birding the common ones are zebra, impala, buffalo, topi, and elands as herbivores not to leave out the rare slightly of roan antelope and leopard, hyenas and jackals are predictors. Bird viewing opportunities are excellent –for birders, this is one of the best places to find African fin foot, papyrus bush shrike, zebra, impala, elands, and other ungulates. In the afternoon take a boat trip dinner and over night at Lake Mburo Tented Camp.

day 4

From Lake Mburo to Lake Bunyonyi

Check out of Lake Mburo national park and drive to Lake Bunyonyi Bushara Island Camp, in the evening go for canoe ride in search of water birds. Dinner and overnight at Bushara Island.

day 5

From Lake Bunyonyi to Ishasha

Morning breakfast, check out of Bushara Island and birding en route arriving in Ishasha Sector. This is part of Queen Elizabeth National Park known for the tree climbing lions, it also has quite large herds of buffalos and kobs. In the afternoon you can do a game drive in search of the tree climbing lions. Dinner and over night at Ishasha Bandas

day 6

Queen Elizabeth NP

Check out of Ishasha to the North of Queen Elizabeth National Park. Enjoy the amazing contrast in scenery as you move from a dense Forest to open grass land dotted with flat–topped acacia and primeval euphorbia trees. Queen Elizabeth National Park's diverse eco-system of grassy plains, tropical forest, rivers, swamps, lakes and volcanic craters is home to an incredible abundance of wildlife. Game drives in this park, with the massive Rwenzori as a backdrop provide excellent opportunity to see lions, leopard, giant forest hog, cape buffalo, elephants, defassa water bucks, Uganda kob, topi and bush buck. These game drives and the boat trips (taken prior) are a memorable method of discovering a vast array of Uganda wildlife. Dinner and overnight park hostel

Queen Elizabeth NP

Early morning game drive, through Kasenyi track, kobs and mating ground in search for savanna birds like Temmincks Courser, Martial Eagle, Ruppeus Griffons, vultures etc. Return for dinner and overnight park hostel

day 8

From Queen Elizabeth to Kibale

Early morning break fast check out of Queen Elizabeth National Park, head for Kibale National Park via Fort Portal. Kibale Forest is a large protected block of rainforest, which has the highest number of primates in Africa such as Chimpanzees, Grey Cheeked Mangabey, Red Tailed Monkey and Red Colobus. You will go for a guided walk to the Magombe Swamp at Bigodi to look for the Shining Blue Kingfisher, Blue Throated Roller and other rare species and also find the fruiting trees, which attract Narina Trogon, Pied Hornbill, Yellow Spotted, Hairy Breasted and Yellow-Billed Barbets. day 9

Chimpanzee tracking

This morning, we will go for the morning Chimpanzee tracking in Kibale Forest and in the afternoon check out of Kibale National park back to Fort portal. Dinner and overnight at Rwenzori View Guest House.

day 10

Fort Portal to Kampala

Depart from Fort Portal en-route birding, arriving in Kampala in time for dinner and over night at hotel

day 11

Kampala City Tour

Kampala City Tour and visiting some of the art and craft shops

day 12

Departure to airport

Transfer to airport, end of safari

What is included?

Accommodation full board, ground transport in a 4WD car plus fuel, park entrance fees, guide fees, boat trips, accommodation in Kampala are based on B/B, chimpanzee tracking permits.
